I have headed the surgical team in approximately 15.000 otolaryngological and head-neck operations. My focus has been on surgery for malignant head and neck tumours, LASER surgery of the larynx, the correction of functional defects of the nose (septoplasty, turbinoplasty, polypectomies), the removal of salivary glands tumours, and cosmetic surgery of the ears and nose. With regard to the latter, in many operations over the years I worked towards developing the closed rhinoplasty technique, which permits cosmetic nose correction without any external incision.
